Tapora Avocado Heaven - Maintenance job

 

Tapora - 离Auckland 约有两个小时的车程。我们在这里工作了三个星期。工作内容就包括打理果园。这片名为Avocado Heaven，面积为500,000 metre squares，共有39个blocks。差不多有50个大型足球场，是属于纽西兰十大首富之一，Tony Gibbs。

 

这是啊蕙的工作装扮，雨衣雨鞋，拿着耙子。

 

我们一共6人全程打理整个果园，当中包括

1)泥土里拔出sprinkles然后挂在铁丝上

2)把植物树干上与竹子的黑色胶布撕掉

3)把植物两排的mulch铲平。

*A mulch is a layer of material applied to the surface of an area of soil. Its purpose is any or all of the following: to conserve moisture. to improve the fertility and health of the soil. to reduce weed growth.

到了Matakana都有一段時間了，自從離開了KeriKeri,兩個星期前。Matakana的宿舍，Happydayz, 住著了40人，來自台灣台灣，香港，中國，馬來西亞，德國，日本，烏拉圭和美國。 

說是熱鬧，但是試想一想如果只有四間廁所，兩間浴室，需要排隊的時候是多麼的痛苦啊 （我也是在排隊中寫這篇稿）

 

關於這第二份工作，是在室內種植燈籠椒（別國人叫天椒）。起初聽起來好像不錯，可有別另一般知識可入袋。但是我們都是在幹苦工呀。搬搬抬抬，上架下架，無一倖免。下次再分享室內的點點滴滴。

Matakana 其實是偏僻的農村吧，都是以種植維生。宿舍的後面就是🍊園。所以大部份的住客都是採橘子的。

Today comes to the 3rd week for kiwi job. It almost comes to an end. Probably next week will start the mandarin picking job at other area.

31/5 Keri Keri

Today Tuesday, half day work until 12 noon due to poor weather yesterday for kiwi fruit picking. So not much job for packaging. 

 

The weather changes rapidly, and rainbow can easily be seen everywhere in New Zealand. It always rains about 10 min and stop, and rain and stop. 

Currently staying in Holiday Park Motel in Keri Keri, NZD145 per week and without facilities espcially free laundry service, the most important service needed by backpacker like me. Instead, 4 dollars to pay each time.

Saturday, my first weekend in New Zealand. Visited Hunua Falls with Wil Sha housemates. Was a great and owesome outing day with them. 

 

Beautiful view captured inside the moving car. The weather was pretty clear, and we are welcomed with breezing air. 

 

Hunua Range Regional Park. Here we are! Top spot, but too bad the girls were blocking the water behind. 

 

So this is the original view that should be taken and framed. Original and unedited. Hahaha..

 

The falls flows roughly but the water wasn't pured 

and in fact a bit yellowish. But overall it amazed me.

 

We went for a short trekking which took about 30min to reach the peak. No worries, we trekked in cold condition of about 15 deg celcius atmosphere temperature which you will never experienced it in Malaysia. 

 

Meet our Hong Kong couples who actually helped us alot in cooking, our car driver, our photographers as well. They owned a drone that manage to capture mesmerizing views. Thanks dudes!

Tomorrow will be departing to Keri Keri and leaving our Wil Sha mates. Time flies. Almost 1 week in Auckland but still didn't secure the first job yet spent a lot of money. 

Monday comes our first job for fruits packaging.

First stand in New Zealand, Auckland

Our first stop after arriving Auckland was Wil Sha 威莎 homestay which located at 5,Tyndrum Prk, Highland Park. 

 

The view from outside. It simply can accomodate more than 10 tenants. 3 of us from Malaysia and the rest are from either Taiwan or Hong Kong. 

 

The view outside the house. Was cloudy but it didn't spoilt my mood throughout the day. Hahaha..
